Amy October
I am a passionate Early Childhood Development (ECD) teacher who is deeply committed to nurturing and inspiring young minds during their most important developmental years.
I pride myself on being patient, caring, and approachable, creating a warm and safe environment where every child feels seen, valued, and confident to express themselves. I hold an NQF Level 5 qualification in ECD, and I am also a proud mother of one, which further strengthens my understanding of children’s needs and development.
In 2025, I gained valuable hands-on experience working as a teacher’s assistant in the foundation phase for six months, where I supported classroom learning and daily routines. I enjoy using creative, hands-on, and play-based learning experiences, including art and storytelling, to support children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
I am dedicated to understanding each child’s unique needs and learning style, and I work closely with families to ensure a supportive and consistent approach to growth. My goal is not only to teach, but to build strong foundations, encourage independence, and spark a lifelong love for learning in every child I work with.
Greta Oliver
I am a qualified ECD teacher with many years of experience working with young children. I have a deep passion for nurturing and inspiring young minds, and I take great joy in supporting each child’s individual growth and development.
I enjoy incorporating a variety of teaching methods, including educational play, creative activities, and storytelling, to create a fun and engaging learning environment. My goal is to help prepare children with the confidence and foundational skills they need for the next stage of their formal education.
I am patient, caring, and compassionate, with a genuine love for working with children. Building strong, trusting relationships with both children and their families is very important to me, and I strive to create a warm and supportive space where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to thrive.
Sandy Jacobs
My name is Sandra, and I began my career in a school environment 14 years ago after spending several years in the clothing industry.
I first worked at an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre for three years, where I gained valuable experience caring for children from babies to 5 years old. I then moved on to a private school, where I worked as a cleaner until my contract came to an end.
After that, I returned to the same ECD where my journey with children began, and I continued working there until it closed in 2021.
I am now part of The Play Patch Nursery School, where I work as a cook and cleaner. I am incredibly proud to provide the children with healthy, nourishing meals each day.
I look forward to many more happy and fulfilling years at The Play Patch.
